Education

The Collaborative Research Center cooperates with doctoral schools at the different CRC sites to provide quality education of Ph.D. students. Educational opportunities and early career support measures offered by doctoral schools at the four sites can be used by any Ph.D. student of the CRC. The Collaborative Research Center complements these measures with additional activities such as student exchanges and workshops. Thus, our goal is to provide young scientists of the CRC with practical opportunities to take advantage of educational activities of doctoral schools at different CRC sites.

The doctoral schools are:

Karlsruhe
Karlsruhe School of Elementary Particle and Astroparticle Physics:
Science and Technology (KSETA)
GRK 1694: Elementary Particle Physics at Highest Energy and highest Precision
Aachen
RTG/GRK 2497: Physics of the Heaviest Particles at the LHC
Siegen
Doctoral School in the Center for Particle Physics Siegen (CPPS)
Heidelberg
GRK 1940: Particle Physics Beyond the Standard Model

If you want to participate in an event of one or several doctoral schools, please contact your young scientist representative or local event organizers. Eventually, we will make sure that remote participation in local events via the CRC video conference system becomes possible.

Training Programs

Regular training events at the CRC sites:

  • The CRCs Young Scientists Forum is an event that takes place at annual CRC workshops. It features short presentations of young scientists of the CRC, preparing them to talk about their research in front of a large audience;
  • The CRC exchange program provides Ph.D. students with an opportunity to visit other sites of the CRC for an extended period of time;
  • The KSETA Topical Courses is an annual event at KIT that offers courses on broad spectrum of topics, from scientific to soft skills;

Seminars

The doctoral schools host various colloquia on a regular basis.
